What can you share?
- An idea
- Something you thought of five minutes ago or have been thinking about for years. If you can explain it, you can share it.
- A work in progress
- Something you’re building, trying out, or figuring out. It doesn’t have to be finished to be worth sharing.
- A live project
- Something already out in the world. Share what it does and where you want to take it next.
What should you say?
- What is it? Explain the idea or project.
- Why does it matter? Who is it for, or what could it change?
- What do you need? Feedback, customers, a cofounder, introductions – or help figuring out your next step.
How does it work?
- How long do I get? At least 2 minutes and a maximum of 3.
- How prepared do I need to be? First time, polished or somewhere in-between – all pitch practice is good. Just be ready to explain what you want to share.
- Do I need slides? No. Slides are optional. If you’d like to use them, email your deck to pitch@openmicpitch.com at least 24 hours before the event.
The environment is casual and friendly. There are no judges, no ranking, and no on-stage Q&A. After all the pitches, stay for questions, feedback, and community.
